About
Here’s the skinny:
I have always dreamed of owning and operating my own retail store. I started working at a record store when I was in high school (after selling shoes) and that’s when I realized that retail was the life for me. After working at various record stores in Florida a new opportunity presented itself in the form of a management position of a comic book store in Tallahassee. That’s where I got my first taste of the new wave of collectible toys and exposure to the world of “Low-Brow” art. From there I moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I began working Retail Relations for a book and game publisher. After doing that for several years I began working for a national mall retailer as a store manager. I did that for 10 years ending up in a District Management position. Due to numerous yearly trips to the company headquarters in Los Angeles I became aware of the “Designer Toy” movement and finally found my true passion. Once the Corporate world became too much, I decided it was time to make a move and finally open my own retail store. Ultra Pop combines my interests and passions for toys, art & design, and pop culture. We opened our doors on July 2, 2007. I couldn’t have done it without the support and efforts of my family and friends.
